About Judith Bell
Judith has worked with individuals with learning difficulties for over 30 years. She worked for Bury Social Services and Bolton Education Authority before gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 1993 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dyslexia (Specific Learning Difficulties – SpLD`s) in 1996.
She has worked in several Further Education Colleges; for fifteen years as a Dyslexia Support Co-ordinator and Additional Learning Support Manager with specific responsibilities for dyslexia assessments, tuition/support , other SpLD`s; for example, Asperger’s syndrome, Attention Deficit disorder, Autistic spectrum disorders, Mental Health and Wellbeing and Irlen® Syndrome - she managed the Access Arrangements across College.

She was also a member of the development team and course tutor for the OCR Level 5 Certificate in Teaching Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (dyslexia) and was instrumental in the development of the new qualification for the Learning Support Practitioners course (level 3). She was responsible for the assessment of both these courses.
She was an associate lecturer at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) working on the level 7 SpLD Further and Higher education course. She has experience in delivering dyslexia training in the UK and provides in-house training for Further Education providers.
After recently moving to Cumbria, Judith established Irlen Cumbria and currently works privately as an Irlen® screener/diagnostician and trainer in the field of Dyslexia and Irlen® Syndrome.
